Yesterday was St Davids Day and I swapped nationality for the day and became honorary Welsh 🙂 Bonnet and all! Unlike St Patricks Day in Ireland, Wales doesn’t get a bank holiday for St Davids Day, which was quite a blow to me my first year working over here! So the parade is part of a growing movement to get a public holiday and make it a proper celebration of all things Welsh, and I’m 100% behind that!
The costume was amazing! Provided by the wonderful Ruth of Mabli Jack, and made of so many layers she pretty much had to dress me too! The hat however just did not want to stay in place and I proved not to be Welsh enough to make it work, but I smiled the whole day and had a blast anyway!
So here’s a few pics and you can see more of them over on www.cavetsy.org
