Description
Playful and elegant earrings reminiscent of scallop shells, which can be finished with enamel or left in their natural silver state.
These earrings are made by hand from 0.3mm thick recycled sterling silver, they are then corrugated and shaped to make the shape you see. The corrugation makes the quite thin metal stronger so you are left with a lightweight but strong pair of earrings each one weighs less then 2g! Each earring is approx. 2.5cm in length. If you are opting for enamel then the earrings are cleaned polished and a fine dusting of enamel/glass powder is placed in the recesses of the shells and they are fired at 850C in my kiln, sometimes several times, before being cleaned up again back to a shiny finish.
Currently I have the option to add Turquoise enamel to the earrings, I will be adding more colours over the next few days once I have more photos.
