Keum Boo Earrings

£60.00

Description

An delicate pair of earrings made from recycled sterling silver and 24ct gold foil using the Korean technique of Keum boo. Keum boo is an ancient Korean technique of fusing metals using heat and pressure. I love the effect so watch out for more of it in my shop soon! Also random fact I spent 2006 living in Korea so it has a special place in my heart!

I am changing how Fragment Designs runs, and many pieces are being discontinued including these earrings. Once I have sold my current stock I do not intend to make any more so please bear that in mind if considering  purchasing. You can read more about upcoming changes here on my blog.  I will be shipping once a week minimum, but probably sooner then that.

The earrings are made from recycled sterling silver, which has been textured with Oak leaves, and on to which 24ct gold triangles have been applied. Each earring is 1.4cm in diameter, weighs approx 2g and is textured with Oak leaves, a symbol of strength and endurance.

A pendant and Cufflinks to match are also available.

The black colour is a product of oxidation of the silver, to show the gold to its best advantage, but if you would like a more subtle pair of earrings the silver can be left silver, just let me know.

For current lead times please see my store notice that should have popped up when you came to my site. If required I can send directly to a recipient other then yourself with or without a gift note, just let me know in a note at the checkout. And keep and eye on my instagram and Facebook for lots of behind the scenes photos and videos, you might just see your piece getting made!
